The Global Development Network (GDN) is currently inviting research papers, proposals and development project proposals for the 2013-14 Global Development Awards and Medals Competition (AMC). AGRODEP would like to congratulate Fatimata Dia Sow, who has recently been appointed to the post of Commissioner for Social Affairs and Gender in the Economic Community of the States of West Africa (ECOWAS). Dr. Sow specializes in economics and gender issues and will be the replacement for Mrs. Adrienne Diop. She worked previously at the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) as a specialist in economics and agriculture.

I am full of appreciation to the organisers of the just concluded Training Course on Poverty Measurement and Analysis Most of the issues taught by the Instructor Prof Gibson were topical and I learnt so much that has enriched my knowledge on Households survey designs, data collection, poverty and growth analyses. I want to use this medium to say a very BIG THANK YOU to the organizer of the training on Poverty Analysis and Measurement. In fact, it's really an eye-opener to some of the wrong assumptions researchers often made regarding poverty estimates and interpretations.
