International Growth Centre announces Grant for Growth Policies in Developing Countries

The International Growth Centre (IGC) is inviting researchers to submit proposals for high-calibre research projects relevant to growth policies in developing countries. The deadline for submission is at 11:59pm GMT time, on May 31, 2014. This is a comprehensive IGC call for proposals which encompasses its two central programs: the Research and Country Programs.

 

The Research Program is primarily focused on the production of cutting-edge and policy-relevant academic research (global public goods) that go towards informing effective policymaking in developing countries. The IGC has recently produced a set of evidence papers within these four themes of strategic focus that compiles current evidence in these areas. Potential applicants are strongly advised to go through these papers, for addressing the gaps in knowledge on growth policies identified in these papers. Research themes include: Cities, Energy, Firm Capabilities, Entrepreneurship, Farms, Large Firms, Trade, State Effectiveness, Political Economy, State Capabilities.

 

The Country Program is focused on tailoring top-quality research with the specific policy needs of the IGC’s partner countries. Countries include: Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, India - Bihar, India - Central, Liberia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia.
