HarvestChoice is a research initiative which generates information to help guide strategic investments in agriculture aimed at improving the well‐being of poor people in Sub-Saharan Africa through more productive and profitable farming. The initiative is coordinated by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the University of Minnesota and is supported by a grant by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Median travel time to human settlement of 50,000 or greater population (aggregation type: AVG) . Inland white colored areas indicate waterbodies for which no travel time or route was available at the time of creation.
