AGRODEP is pleased to announce the selected proposals for its 2013 Innovative Research grant series. The theme for the 2013 Innovative Research grants was Economic Growth and Development in Africa: Lessons from the Last Forty Years and Implications for Its Sustainability. Proposals were asked to focus on understanding: (i) how individual factors have contributed to the economic turn-around seen in the region since 2001 and (ii) how the recovery can be sustained and broaden to reach a large number of ordinary Africans.
AGRODEP encouraged the submission of joint and collaborative proposals in order to increase members' networking activities. Special consideration was given to proposals with a CAADP agenda; after an initial review by the AGRODEP management team, the authors of the top proposals were invited to present at the 2013 Members' Workshop in November. Seven were then selected as fundable by all reviewers. AGRODEP congratulates the following members for having their proposal selected for funding:
