The AGRODEP team is pleased to announce the winner of the Special Award for 2012 Publications. AGRODEP member Nicodème Nimenya will receive this award for his publication entitled “Tariff Equivalents of Nontariff Measures: The Case of European Horticultural and Fish Imports from African Countries”, published in Agricultural Economics (43(6):635-653). Nicodemè is a citizen of Burundi and is currently a Professor/Lecturer at the Universitè du Burundi. He has been an AGRODEP member since April 2011. The winning paper is co-authored by Pascal-Firmin Ndimira of the Universitè du Burundi and Bruno Henry de Frahan of the Universitè Catholique de Louvain.
The AGRODEP Special Award for 2012 Publications was open to AGRODEP members who published a paper between January - December 2012. The award is designed to provide a reward for excellent publications in 2012 and as an incentive for further publications in the coming year. The 2012 call drew an enthusiastic response. Due to the high number of applicants and the high caliber of each research paper, the selection process took longer than initially anticipated. The AGRODEP team appreciates the strong member participation and encourages members to continue applying for AGRODEP awards in the future.
