Nhemachena, Charles

Dr. Charles Nhemachena is a citizen of Zimbabwe. He has been an AGRODEP member since April, 2013. At the present, Charles is a Programme Officer Regional Food Trade & Resilience at the AGRA. In this position, Charles Conduct quality research, analyse data, interpret and report research findings and recommendations in high-level forums; Design projects for problem-oriented research; Lead large collaborative research projects with partners in Africa and globally; Network with major users and those financing social science research to understand their research needs, and develop contacts with policy-makers and researchers outside the HSRC; Build national and international research links and facilitate African research partnerships; Communicate research findings and publish in peer-reviewed accredited journals; Mentor the professional development and the publishing output of colleagues. Before joining AGRA, Charles worked for Council for Scientific and Industrial Research. He holds a BS in Agricultural Economics and Extension from University of Zimbabwe, a MSc in Agricultural Economics and Extension from University of Zimbabwe, and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Rural Development & Extension from University of Pretoria.
