Innocent Abanum Ifelunini

Dr. Innocent Abanum Ifelunini holds a Master's (2005) and a PhD (2012) in Development Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a lecturer in Economics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Research Fellow at the Resource and Environmental Policy Research Centre, Environment for Development Initiative, Nigeria. Before joining the University of Nigeria, Innocent worked as a research assistant with the African Institute for Applied Economics (now African Heritage Institution) and as a program specialist in the southeast zone of the Central Bank of Nigeria Entrepreneurship Development Programme.


He is a researcher at the African Economic Research Consortium, Nairobi, Kenya, and an Alumnus of the African Programme on Rethinking Development Economics (APORDE), Johannesburg, South Africa. His research interests include development economics, poverty and income distribution, demography, monitoring and evaluation, climate change, environment and economic growth, agriculture, water, plastic Pollution, and waste management.
