Several AGRODEP members have been selected to participate in a workshop on the modernization of African agriculture through the adoption of improved agricultural technologies. The event will be held from September 18-22 in Dakar and will be organized by Institut des Hautes Etudes du Développement Durable (IHEDD), in collaboration with Fondation pour les Etudes et Recherches sur le Développement International (FERDI), IFPRI, AGRODEP, Agricultural Technology Adoption Initiative (ATAI), and the World Bank.
The workshop will focus on training midcareer researchers and policymakers in Francophone Africa to design and evaluate interventions to encourage the use of agricultural technologies. Proposed interventions will focus on constraints to the adoption of agricultural technologies, including risk and insurance, liquidity and credit, and market access and profitability.
