The AGRODEP training course on Multi-Country, Multi-Sector General Equilibrium Analysis: MIRAGRODEP was held on 17-19 December. The course was conducted by Dr. Antoine Bouet of IFPRI. The course focused specifically on MIRAGRODEP, a Multi-Sector, Multi-Country Computable General Equilibrium model initially devoted to trade policy analysis and more recently applied to long-term growth and environmental issues. Six AGRODEP members participated in the course.
Cheickh Sadibou Fall, Research Engineer at the lnstitut Senegalais de Recherches Agric oles (ISRA), had this to say about the training:
"It was three days of training very rich covering many areas. Indeed, it was an opportunity to have a comprehensive and clear presentation of the future flagship model of the network, Miragrodep. In addition, this training allowed me to revisit the mathematical foundations and the implementation of trade liberalization policies in the context of CGE models. I cannot end without thanking the trainers and all the AMT."
